Problem Note 64845: SAS® Enterprise Guide® generates an "Insufficient authorization" error when you try to open the Documents folder in the SASApp Files listing
SAS Enterprise Guide displays the Documents folder under the SASApp server Files listing even if the file navigation path for SAS Workspace Server is set to SAS User Root or System Root.
When the file navigation path is set for SAS User Root or System Root, as described in SAS Note 59828, “Setting the file navigation path for a workspace server,” the Documents folder is still displayed. When you connect to a remote SAS® Workspace Server, the Documents folder should not be displayed. In that case, the Documents folder should be your Documents directory on the local machine. The Documents folder should appear only when you connect to a local SAS installation.
If the SAS Enterprise Guide process (SEGuide.exe) is running under a different account than the account that is accessing the workspace server in the connection profile, then the following error appears when you attempt to open the Documents folder:
[Error] Insufficient authorization to access C:\Users\<user-id-for-user-running-the-SEGuide.exe-process>\Documents\
Workarounds
-
Follow the steps in SAS Note 59828 to configure the Specify Path option, which will not display the Documents folder. If you want to make multiple directories available within the specified path, create symbolic links that reference the directories.
-
Use the token <user-id>, which inserts your host ID in the path in order to create a user-specific path. Note: The user-id directory must already be present. SAS does not create this directory.
